Season 1- Episode (9)

This meeting created a new kind of friendship between Bernard and Erica. They weren’t now just distant friends but had become close since they fellowshipped together in the same church.

Mr. Harry came to visit Aba two days later. Aba was at lectures when he came to the campus. He had called Aba on her cell phone, but her phone wasn’t reachable. He took his chances and headed to her room. Luckily for him, he met Stella in the room.

Stella was happy Mr. Harry visited again. She was expecting to see him. She gave him a chair to sit on to wait for Aba. She made Mr. Harry to understand that Aba would return in 30 minutes. Mr. Harry wanted to see Aba so he could personally hand over the provisions to her, so he waited.

“This is a good day. Wow! There is no one in the room right now. I need to seduce this man. I need to snatch him from Aba. Just look at what he bought for her. I would be better off with him than Alhaji.” Stella thought. “Can I serve you with something Mr. Harry?” Stella asked. “Oh am okay, dear. Thanks for asking. Mr. Harry replied her. Stella went to the washroom and changed into a seductive attire. She wanted to seduce Mr. Harry and she needed to be fast about it before Aba walks in. Seeing Mr. Harry was lonely sitting on the chair, she came to pass in front of him. She was trying her best for Mr. Harry to notice her.

Finally, she was able to catch the attention of Mr. Harry. He looked at her for a while. Indeed, Stella was looking very attractive and he knew exactly what she was doing. He psyched himself not to fall prey to her advances. He knew that would jeopardize his chances with Aba. “Hello lady, can you please wear something to cover yourself?” He broached the subject by trying his best not to offend Stella in the process. “Oh! I’m very sorry, Mister. I was just going to take a bath. I’m really sorry for the inconveniences caused by my appearance.” Stella apologized and went back to the washroom. She was really embarrassed because her mission had been thwarted.

In five minutes, Aba walked through the door. Mr. Harry was very pleased to see her. Seeing Aba brought smiles to his face. Aba was also happy to see him too. Because of the incident that happened days ago, she had emotionally grown fond of Mr. Harry. He was caring and generous. He showered her with a lot of gifts. She asked Mr. Harry what he was doing with the huge polythene bag he was holding. “I bought you some provisions Aba. I thought you might need them.” Mr. Harry replied. “Oh really!! Thank you very much Mr. Harry. I really appreciate the gesture.” Aba exclaimed.

Slow but sure, Mr. Harry was winning Aba’s heart. The generosity was influencing her gradually and she felt comfortable with him. She knew Mr. Harry was interested in her and wanted to be in an affair with her. Aba escorted Mr. Harry to his car. Before he sat in his car, he proposed love to Aba. Aba wasn’t surprised because she already knew what Mr. Harry wanted from her. She wasn’t sure whether to accept his proposal or not. Yes, she liked him, but because of what Jeremy did to her, she lost trust in all men. She told Mr. Harry to give her some time to think about it. ”Okay, dear, you can have all the time you need to think about it.” Mr. Harry retorted when Aba asked for time to think about the proposal. Aba wanted to seek the consent of Stella before she accepted Mr. Harry’s proposal.

When Aba got to the room, she found Stella pacing. She quickly sat down when she saw Aba staring at her. Aba was wondering why her friend was pacing in the room, but after all it wasn’t her business so she brushed away the thought. She needed to discuss something important with Stella. “Stella, can I please have a discussion with you?” Aba asked. “Err….Err ….Err,” She muttered. “No problem, what is it you want to discuss with me?” She asked finally. “Mr. Harry proposed to me a while ago and I was wondering if I should accept or to reject his proposal.” Aba said expecting an answer from Stella.

Stella was furious because of what had happened earlier. She wanted revenge on Mr. Harry for embarrassing her. “I will pay him back by advising Aba to reject his proposal.” She thought. “Aba, I can see you don’t learn from your mistakes. Recollect what happened with Jeremy. He slept with you and dumped you. Do you want a repeat of such an incident? Most of these men are married men. They leave their wives in the house and chase young girls on campus. My advice to you is to reject his proposal. Let him go with his troubles because I don’t want to see you hurt all over again.”

What Stella said made sense to Aba. She really didn’t want to go through a heartbreak again. Based on Stella’s advice, Aba decided to reject Mr. Harry’s proposal. Throughout the night Aba was on her bed, she thought about Mr. Harry’s proposal and what Stella said. It was true that Jeremy treated her badly, but she saw Mr. Harry to be a decent man. He didn’t look like someone who would hurt her. Upon long deliberation in her mind that night, she concluded to accept Mr. Harry’s proposal. “At least, there is no harm in trying.” She thought to herself.

Mr. Harry called Aba early the next morning to know whether she had reached a conclusion. Aba hesitated for a while and then told him to pass by her room later in the afternoon.

Meanwhile, Bernard and Erica had become very close. They attended almost all meetings in church together. Erica now visited Bernard more frequently and had grown fond of him. She had fallen in love with him. She saw how caring Bernard was and how he respected her. Day by day, she was falling deeply in love with him. She wanted to let Bernard know how she felt, but was afraid to do so.

She showed signs to demonstrate her feelings and affections to Bernard. But, Bernard never responded to her affections. Perhaps he was so much into Aba he hadn’t recognized the affection Erica was showing to him. To Bernard, Erica had been just a very good friend and a Christian sister.

It had never crossed his mind to date her. He never thought for a second that Erica had developed feelings for him. He was so much into Aba and that was where his heart was. He would try everything possible to make Aba realize how much he loved her.

Will Erica be successful in tuning Bernard’s heart to reciprocate the love she felt for him? Will Bernard be successful in his quest to win Aba’s heart at all cost or he will give up and settle with Erica who had become so fond of him? Aba was about to accept Mr. Harry’s proposal. Will her new relationship with her sugar daddy work out?
