Juggled Glory (The Story of Aba) by Lewis Dampson Season 2-Final Episode

She wanted to get her life together, but was still entangled with her old ways. She felt she was in an invincible chain she couldn’t break free of. She needed help badly. Someone who could help her come out of her captivity.

Stella got to the house still thinking about the young man she met earlier in the day. “I need to call him now! I can’t wait any more.” She said. She took her handbag and took the card from it. She dialed Ken’s number and waited for the call to go through. “Hello. Ken, this is Stella.” She said. “Stella… Stella… Oh, the lady I meet at the mall. How are you doing?” Ken asked Stella. “I am doing well. Can I meet you in this evening? I want to still know more about you.” Ken requested. “No problem Ken. I was looking forward to it.” Stella retorted. “I am in a meeting now so I will call you when I am done to give you the location.” Ken said. They exchanged pleasantries and Ken hanged up.

Stella was very happy. Her dream was becoming a reality. She didn’t have to do anything extraordinary for Ken to like her. She had known men for a longtime and had been in countless relationships so she could tell if a guy was interested in her. Here, she knew Ken liked her.

Meanwhile, Bernard and Erica were preparing towards their wedding. Bernard had gone to see Erica’s parents. He didn’t want to waste any time. Fortunately for him, Erica’s family didn’t have a problem with the marriage. They have known him since the time he was in school and were glad that he had been able to fulfill his words.

Ken finished with his meeting, he called Stella and told her to meet him in his house. He gave her the location and told her he would expect her in an hour. Stella quickly went into her clothing. She wanted to pick the best attire to wear. She wanted to look her best. She was able to locate her purple dress. The one her English boyfriend bought for her from England. “Yes. This is good. I will wear this one with my favorite shoes.” She said.

While she was about to step out of the house, she met her mom at the entrance. “Where are you going to young lady? You just came to the house and you are leaving again? I don’t understand you at all. When are you going to be serious with life? Can’t you see your mates? They are all getting jobs and some are even getting married. The only thing you know how to do well is to dress up and go out. Hoping from one man to another. Be careful my dear before someone does something awful to you.” Stella’s mother admonished her.

Stella turned her face to another direction when her mom was talking to her. She didn’t want to hear any of it. “This old woman talks too much!! She doesn’t know the world has changed. This is the twenty-first century for crying out loud. The way we do our things are different from their old fashioned way of life. She should stop ranting and allow me to go my way. Ken is waiting for me in an hour and am already running late.” Stella thought of all these while her mom was advising her.

In order not to waste more time, she nodded her head up and down to illustrate she was listening to the advice. She needed to pretend all else her mom won’t stop ranting. After five minutes, her mom finished and went into the house. Stella immediately got into a cab and headed to Ken’s apartment.

She was ten minutes late when she got to Ken’s house. Ken was already waiting for her. He opened the gate and gave way to make room for Stella to enter. He walked her into the hall. She offered Stella some fruit juice which she drank gladly. It was very refreshing considering how hot the weather had been.  They started talking to know more about themselves. The more Stella got to know Ken, the more she liked him. “I will be very lucky to marry this rich dude. It looks like he had already acquired all I need. I wouldn’t need to work hard if I should marry him.” She fantasized about these thoughts while she was still engaged in conversation with him.

In thirty minutes, she felt drowsy. She initially thought it was because of stress and tiredness, but as time went on the drowsiness became serious. She couldn’t move. All she could do now was to sleep. It was then she realized she had been drugged. She had heard of stuffs like that before but hadn’t experienced one. “Oh men! Why does he need to drug me to sleep with me? He could have just asked and I would have allowed him. I am already attracted to him. Let me just sleep and let him do whatever he wants to do.” Stella thought of this with drowsy eyes. She wasn’t even able to finish her statement when she fell asleep.

Ken came out of the bedroom and saw Stella sleeping in the couch. “Nice, the medicine had worked! Let me call the guys so they could come and tie her up. Baba Falleni is waiting for me. He told me the last time that if I don’t get the sacrifice, he would kill me. I need to be fast!” He said while he brought out his phone from his pocket to call his guys.

Aba was still waiting for her encounter. She was waiting for that day when her chains would be broken. The attraction to go back to her old ways were overwhelming her. Men proposed to her every time she went out. Although she had declined all their proposal, she found it very difficult to do so. She needed the encounter very badly.

She went to a church meeting one day and came back late. She was so tired that she slept right away. She wasn’t even able to pray the three minutes she had been praying anytime she went to bed. In the course of her sleep, she had what seemed like a dream, but was actually real. It was as if she was partially awake when she had this dream. In the dream, a mighty Being entered her room. The Being didn’t have flesh but had an outlook of a man. He moved to Aba’s bed. Aba laid there motionless although she could see all that was happening. The Being touched her forehead and said “Daughter, you are free from every entanglements. You are bought with a price and that price is my blood. Therefore do the work of the Father because that is your calling.”

With those words, the being disappeared and Aba was able to move. She felt liked she had been touched with electricity. It was as if electricity was flowing through her entire being. She was confused. She didn’t know what to make of the Being who just visited her. He looked like a spirit but yet was real like a human.

This was because she was able to feel the touch on her forehead. She was glad in another sense because of the words He spoke to her. She knew then that her chain had been broken. “I will see the Pastor tomorrow and narrate this experience to him. I think he will understand it better.” She said while she plunged herself into sleep again.

Stella woke up at dawn in a dark room tied up. Her hands and feet were tied with ropes and she couldn’t even move a muscle. She wanted to scream Ken’s name but realized her mouth too had been covered with a handkerchief. She immediately knew she was in danger. Her adrenaline shot up. She wanted to do everything possible to break free but all to no avail.

After ten minutes, she saw Ken in the room with another five men all dressed in red and black. They lit all the candles in the room to give a little illumination. It was then Stella knew where she really was. She was in a shrine. Baba Falleni came to the room and everyone present bowed. “Ken, you have done very well to honor your promise. I consulted the gods and they have accepted your sacrifice so let us proceed with the rituals because they are thirsty for blood.” Baba Falleni said and gave out a frightening laughter.

When Stella heard those words, fear filled her heart and tears filled her eyes. “Am I really going to die today? Am going to sacrificed as a goat?” she wept still hoping that deliverance would come. Baba Falleni started with his incantations.

Meanwhile, Stella’s mother was waiting for her daughter. She knew her daughter liked coming home late, but had never slept outside before. As she was waiting, she fell asleep and had a dream. In the dream, she saw her daughter on an altar. She was being sacrificed. She woke up terrified and immediately called her pastor to help her intercede for her daughter. The Pastor immediately prayed for Stella.

Baba Falleni had finished with the incantation and was only left to slit Stella’s throat. He took his sharp sacred knife and moved towards Stella. When he was about a yard closer to where Stella was lying, something struck him. He fell instantly with all his subjects. He became numb for some few minutes before regaining his senses. He immediately knew he was dealing with a greater power. He had to set the girl free all else he may end up losing his life. He ordered Ken and the rest of his subjects to take the girl away and dump her in the bush. They did as he said.

A hunter came across Stella in the bush and brought her to the main road. He looked for a taxi for her and paid the fare. Stella couldn’t control herself. She was weeping uncontrollably because of what had happened to her earlier. She was almost at the verge of losing her life to an occultist, but grace located her. She never thought she could escape from that peril.

She got home to meet everyone awake praying. They were all excited to see her when she entered the front door. She knelt down and begged her mom to forgive her for all her rudeness. She moved to the pastor in tears and asked the pastor to lead her to Christ which he did joyfully. Stella was now a born again Christian and she promised to stay that way.

Aba started working for God as an evangelist after the pastor explained her dream to her. He told her she had been visited by Jesus and He wanted her to work for Him. She moved from place to place preaching and sharing her testimony especially with young girls. She was able to re-write her paper and came out with grade B. She graduated after some few months.

Bernard and Erica were able to put their wedding plans together and got married. Both Aba and Stella were present at the wedding. Aba regretted that she was myopic in her decision concerning Bernard. Only if she had wised up early, she would have been the one standing at the altar with him. Although the Lord had done a marvelous work in her life, she still had the scars of her mistakes.

THE END.
