Season 1- Episode (3)
Was Aba really going to come as promised? Bernard was really hoping that his anticipation wouldn’t be in vain.
Aba was dressing up to go and meet Bernard. She wore her jeans trousers and a blouse top. She looked very eldegant. She set off to Bernard’s room.
At exactly 7:05pm, a gentle rap sounded at his door. Bernard least expected it was Aba because he was expecting her at 7:30pm. He looked through the peephole and saw Aba in front of his door. He couldn’t believe his eyes. Her radiating beauty almost blinded him. He quickly ran back into the room and stashed all his dirty belongings.
Turning the key, he unlatched the door and pulled it opened for Aba to enter. Aba could smell the fragrance that met her at the entrance. Bernard gave her a seat near the study table. Fortunately for Bernard, he shared his room alone so he didn’t have to worry about any intrusion. He was very careful not to make any wrong move. He took notice of his speech and most importantly, his body language.
Aba brought out her notes from her black leather bag. She also took out a pen and a notebook to jot down explanations from Bernard. Bernard sat beside her still mesmerized by her stunning beauty. He managed to pull himself together. He carefully explained everything to Aba and made sure she understood.
Finally Aba was able to make sense of the notes given during lectures. She thanked Bernard profusely for the kind of help he had offered her. At 9:00pm, they had finished learning and Bernard escorted her out of his room. He took Aba to the front gate of the hall and bade her goodbye.
Aba replied the gesture. Bernard stared at her till he couldn’t see her image anymore. He was very much in love with Aba. She dominated most of his thinking. He was growing fond of her with every passing second and their two encounters had already proven successful. But the thing that worried Bernard the most was whether Aba felt the same about him.
Was he just a means to an end for Aba? Was Aba just using him to achieve her academic excellence or she was also growing fond of him? Was she really enjoying his presence as he does when he is around her? Even if Aba felt the same way about him, how was he going to propose to her? How was he going to go about the whole thing? These were the thoughts that were going through Bernard’s mind while he was staring at Aba.
The next day, Aba was walking around campus. She was going to get some items to prepare some stew when a range rover sport pulled over at her side. The driver of the car produced a honk trying to get Aba’s attention. Initially, Aba didn’t hear the honk. The young guy persisted until he caught Aba’s attention.
Aba: Am I the one you are calling?
Young man: Of course beauty. Who else?
(Aba approached the car and the young man rolled down his wind screen.)
Young man: What is your name pretty?
Aba: My name is Aba
Young man: Wow! a beautiful name for a beautiful lady
Aba: Thank you
Young man: Where are you going gorgeous? I can take you to wherever you are going to. You know, the sun is scorching and I hate to see the heartless heat burn this smooth and well-toned skin of yours. Come on dear let me shelter you from the sun in my air-conditioned car.
Upon further persuasion, Aba went to sit at the front seat of the car. “My name is Jeremy,” said the young guy. “Where are you going dear?” He asked. “I’m going to the school’s market to buy some items for my stew,” Aba responded. “Wow! I hope am invited to taste your cooking. Don’t worry, I know it will be tasty,” Jeremy said teasingly. Aba expressed a shy look and nodded to accept Jeremy request.
In no time, they were at the school’s market. Aba got down from the car and thanked Jeremy for the ride. “Hey! Hold on dear, I didn’t get your number,” Jeremy said in a romantic tone. “How do you expect me to allow a beautiful girl like you to slip away through my hands?” Jeremy added jokingly.
Aba didn’t have any other choice than to give her number to Jeremy. In deed Aba was somehow attracted to Jeremy. He didn’t look like the normal guys she had been seeing on campus. He looked quite matured and very handsome.
Aba got back to the room to meet her roommate Stella, she was so excited about her meeting with Jeremy that she couldn’t keep the whole feeling to herself. She needed to tell somebody. At least someone she trusted.
Among all the roomies, Stella was the one that looked trust worthy based on her judgement. She also looked matured and knew a lot of things they didn’t know.
Back at Bernard’s room, he was seriously fantasizing about Aba. He was day dreaming about how their wedding was going to be, how many children they would have, how beautiful their children would look, the house they were going to live in and so on. These thought dominated his thinking throughout the morning.
Now, who will be successful in winning Aba’s heart? Bernard or Jeremy?
